Asheville Academy can help with a variety of conditions young girls frequently experience, including depression, anxiety, ADD, and ADHD. Our goal is to help you determine whether Asheville Academy is a good fit for your daughter.

Admission Criteria

  • Girls should be age 10-14 at the time of enrollment (grades 5-10).
  • Students should have a full-scale IQ of 85 or higher on an approved standardized test.
  • Students must not exhibit exclusionary criteria as described below.

Students at Asheville Academy typically demonstrate some of the following behaviors

  • Unmet learning challenges
  • Poor social skills (struggles to build relationships, doesn’t understand social signals)
  • Attachment issues
  • Self-Centered, bossy
  • Low self-esteem
  • Inability to adhere to rules

  • Poor performance in school due to anxiety, disinterest, or refusal
  • Tantrums, mood swings
  • Emotionally withdrawn, isolated, technology-focused
  • Fatigued
  • Aggressive at home

  • Depression (hopelessness, disinterest)
  • Immaturity or impulsiveness
  • Lack of respect towards parents or teachers
  • Bullied or bullying
  • Identity confusion
  • Learning disabilities
