Tanya grew up in the Netherlands where she got her degree in Education from the PABO Hoogeschool Oegstgeest. She has been teaching in one way or another for over 30 years (with a slight detour into corporate America) in classrooms ranging from New York City private schools to entirely outdoor forest schools and working with children of all ages. She has a background in, and a great love for Waldorf Education. She is grateful that she gets to work at AAG with a phenomenal team of educators, amazing students, and in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.
Tanya lives with her husband, their three teenage children, two dogs, and a cat on a small homestead near the AAG campus. She spends her days growing a big vegetable garden, cooking, and natural and primitive crafts. Her favorite quote comes from Albert Einstein:
“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”
