Joe D’urso is a New Hampshire native who relocated to Western North Carolina in early 2012 to further his career working with middle school and high school youth. Joe attended the New Hampshire Institute of Art and Keene State College, where he studied Special Education, focusing in art. Joe brings to Asheville Academy for Girls a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in several different wilderness based therapeutic programs. He has been an employee of Asheville Academy since July of 2014, where he started as a Mentor in Dogwood team, and has since received numerous promotions, leading him to his current position as Program Coordinator for the school. In addition to this role, Joe is actively pursuing a degree in Recreation Management. In his spare time, Joe is an avid comic enthusiast who can be found hiking and exploring WNC with his husband and two dogs, Odin and Loki.
