Asheville Academy is exclusively designed to meet the unique academic, developmental and emotional needs of students ages 10 – 14.
Our program is specifically designed to support families with 10-14 year-old children who need to build academic confidence, resilience, self-esteem, impulse control, communication, respect, and social skills.
Families can place their child as quickly as 48 hours as long as we have all of the necessary paperwork.
Call us directly at 800-264-8709 for answers and to receive the Application.
Once your child joins us your therapist will make recommendations for visits. We generally recommend visits every 4-6 weeks and start locally before going home.
We have 97 expansive acres tucked into a beautiful mountain valley. We are the only ones who use this campus – we are remote enough that we don’t have unexpected visitors and no one else is on campus not directly involved with programs. All staff undergo rigorous interview process and background checks.
We believe accreditations help reinforce high standards of care and help families feel confident in our programming and effectiveness. Our academic programming is accredited with Cognia, formerly AdvancED, and we are accredited by CARF which many believe is the gold standard for quality programming. Additionally, academic programming is recognized by the North Carolina Department of Non-Public Education as a traditional private school. This reinforces that we meet national academic standards and that credits earned at Asheville Academy will be transferable anywhere in the country.
When things have become unmanageable at home, it may be time to seek specialized support. Our ability to focus on care and guidance 24/7 in all environments – academic, therapy, and daily living allows us to provide structure and consistency which results in tremendous gains with our students.
Before arriving, students are often already discouraged about family dynamics or disconnected from family members. It’s natural for children to be afraid of being away from home—however, our students come to realize with time that this tough decision was made with their best interest in mind. This is one of the most difficult and loving decisions you can make.
