Current Openings:

Logistics Coordinator

This person works closely with the Medical Coordinator to identify students’ medical needs, schedules and runs necessary appointments, and acts as their advocate with medical providers as well as within the school community. This includes helping students identify and advocate for their needs, while being cognizant of when to step in on their behalf. The role requires someone able to quickly discern what and how much information needs to be disclosed to whom in regard to multiple students throughout the day. Effective, direct, and professional oral and written communication is imperative and is often done on the go. The Logistics Coordinator manages and maintains changes on the Residential Calendar, which includes all student medical appointments and home visits. Organization and communication is the key to success in this role.

In addition, the Logistics Coordinator must be comfortable driving a 15-passenger van on occasion and is in charge of training new hires in company vehicle/driving protocols.

The need for placement surrounding the demographic of students we serve has grown exponentially and we do not see this slowing down! Therefore, we are looking to hire quickly for this integral position!

Pay: From $32,000.00 per year

Therapist

Asheville Academy is a Therapeutic Boarding School for female adolescents age 10 to 15 located in Black Mountain, NC near Old Fort. We emphasize a relationship-based approach to therapy in a nurturing environment. Experience in Trauma and Attachment focused therapy preferred.

We are currently seeking a Masters or PhD-level Licensed Therapist to join our clinical team in JULY 2021. A minimum of one year experience in adolescent residential treatment preferred. This is a salaried, full-time position including full medical health benefits, 401(K), paid time off, and sick pay. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Master’s degree or Ph.D. from an accredited graduate program in a behavioral health-related field, including graduate degrees in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy is required. Must have current licensure within their professions (LMHC, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, etc.) by their respective State Boards and be eligible for and acquire licensure in the state of North Carolina.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Confident and comfortable working with parents and family system dynamics
  • Experience working with adolescents in a residential treatment setting
  • Excellent communicator, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to work independently to establish structure within a highly dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational skills for timely documentation and record-keeping
  • Experience leading large group activities

Learning Support Specialist

Asheville Academy for Girls is seeking a Learning Support Specialist to join a team of passionate educators and mental health professionals to work with students with a variety of learning challenges. Those with special education, exceptional children, and similar backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Asheville Academy for Girls is a therapeutic boarding school, specializing in working with students with mild to moderate social-emotional and behavioral struggles. Academic profiles range from challenged to gifted. Asheville Academy for Girls operates year-round, with core content classes held Monday through Thursday.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a robust understanding of learning challenges, experience working to support students with learning challenges, strong communication and record-keeping skills, exceptional professionalism, and a desire to work closely with a small, dedicated teaching team. Current Exceptional Children Licensure strongly preferred. Experience working in alternative school or mental health settings a plus.

Mentor

Are you interested in working with a company whose Mission is to provide a community which fosters healthy relationships, personal growth and academic confidence in an activity-intensive environment? Asheville Academy for Girls is a Therapeutic Boarding School for middle school aged students, searching for staff to support our goal to rebuild, repair and restore relationships between adolescent girls and their families. We are located on a spacious 97-acre campus nestled in the mountains in Black Mountain, NC.

We are considered an Essential Business and are practicing COVID-19 precautions. We are currently hiring for Mentor positions, both Full Time and PRN. The Mentor position is “live-in”- meaning the staff stay on campus for 7 days and then have the following 7 days off. To clarify, Monday morning Mentors report for their shift and stay on campus through the following Monday morning. The schedule is similar to a wilderness program, except you’re sleeping in a comfy bed in a cabin and are provided good, warm meals 3x a day plus snacks! Persons’ who have succeeded in this job include athletes, outdoor enthusiasts and team-focused individuals. Full health benefits, paid time off, sick pay and 401 K offered for full time employees.
