Dr. Deborah Posner, Math Teacher
Dr. Deborah Posner comes to us with over 25 years of experience as an educator and leader
dedicated to preparing students for success, with a focus on supporting those with special needs. She has served as a high school math teacher; college math professor; associate dean of academic affairs; associate vice president and dean of institutional planning and effectiveness; and executive director for strategic initiative management for the School Board of Broward County, the sixth largest school district in the nation. She also recently served as the chief academic officer for the North Carolina Cyber Academy.
Dr. Posner holds a doctorate in education leadership, a masters in business administration, and bachelors in mathematics and computer science as an interdisciplinary study. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Scrum Master. Dr. Posner has been a guest speaker and workshop facilitator at a number of national education conferences, and as a consultant to various schools around the country.
When not at work, Dr. Posner typically spends her time at a barn with her teenage daughter and their pony Biscuit. Dr. Posner and her daughter have also volunteered for various equine non-profit organizations providing therapeutic support, and Dr. Posner is a certified Program Facilitator using miniature horses for children and teens experiencing grief and trauma. In addition, Dr. Posner is the proud fur mom of two dogs, a cat, a gerbil, and two bunnies.
