bullying in schools

Rags-to-riches Cinderella stories are popular and exciting for a reason. We all have a deep rooted wish to someday rise up from a difficult situation and find success and happiness. For young girls, these stories are appealing because being in middle school and high school can sometimes be absolutely miserable.

Bullying in school can make some young girls feel like they’ll never be happy again. But as their parent, you need to remind them that they can overcome their situation and be successful. That’s why stories of celebrities overcoming bullying in school when they were younger are great to share with your teen.

Celebrities who experienced bullying in school

Jessica Alba: Alba was bullied so much in middle school that she ate lunch in the nurse’s’ office. Her father had to walk her to school to stop other girls from bullying her on the bus..
Jennifer Lawrence: Throughout elementary school, Lawrence was bullied so much she had to change schools several times. In middle school, a girl asked her to hand out invitations to a party she was not invited to. Now Lawrence is an Oscar-winning actress and has overcome her past struggles.
Selena Gomez: Gomez says she was bullied “every single minute of middle and high school”. To get through her bullying experience, she relied on the help of her best friend Demi Lovato who was also bullied.
Kate Winslet: Throughout her tween and teen years, Winslet was bullied because of her weight.Recently, the principal of her school denied Winslet’s claims of being bullied and said she was quite popular. Winslet replied to this denial by telling the media that instead of reporting bullying to authorities at school, she confided in one specific teacher who helped her through some tough times.
Sandra Bullock: Oscar award winning actress Sandra Bullock, best known for her roles in The Blind Side, Miss Congeniality, and Gravity was bullied throughout middle school and high school. Her mother, an opera singer, would take her on her travels to Europe for extended periods of time.
