Young Girl Focus

Exclusively Focused on Helping Young Girls Aged 10 – 14 with Behavior, Emotional Health, and Teenage Social Issues

Asheville Academy for Girls’ programs and staff are specifically focused on this special, unique age group in mind.

This time period is often a tumultuous one.  Girls are undergoing physical changes rapidly while emotions are “ahead” of cognitive development.  Life’s situations go from black and white to varying shades of gray with the potential seriousness of choices typically getting greater and greater.

We recognize these challenges and, truthfully, we love this age group!

Typically the severity of issues and how they demonstrate themselves for 11 year old girls is dramatically different than it is for a 17 year old girl.  At Asheville Academy for Girls, our specific focus on this special age group of young girls 10 – 14 allows us to provide a caring, safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic and social setting, helping mitigate effects of teenage social issues.

No More Walking on Eggshells

Families often describe their experience with their young girl like “walking on eggshells” wondering when their daughter’s low self-esteem, emotional immaturity, sadness, loss, or self-doubt will lead to the next explosion.  This dynamic is challenging for their daughter, the parents, and the entire family.
