History/Social Studies

Phillip Brown received his bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Interdisciplinary History in 2002 and his Masters in Education in 2004, all from Appalachian State University. He is a Western North Carolina native. Phillip has vast experience in teaching to different intelligences and across learning styles. He’s particularly experienced in creating a unique classroom that reaches out to all learners. Over the years, Phillip taught in private co-ed and all-girl’s schools in the Washington, DC and Midwest areas. Outside of the classroom, Phillip focuses on his family, which includes his wife and two lovely, little girls. They keep a small family farm. In his free time, Phillip is learning French and the piano. He also paints, and coaches, officiates, and plays lacrosse.
