Doreen has known since she was a young child that she wanted to work with children. While the ages, settings, and type of support have changed over the years, her experiences and passion to help others has prepared her for working at AAG. She has extensive work with children and families of diverse backgrounds, including working with adolescents as a Teacher in the middle school classroom, a Senior Field Instructor at an adolescent behavioral health program, and as a Child and Family Therapist/Intensive In-Home Lead in community mental health. Doreen’s clinical focus and specialty is in the field of Trauma and Attachment. She is a rostered clinician in SPARCS and TF-CBT and has received training in many treatment modalities including Yoga for Trauma, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, CBT, and Family Systems. Doreen received her Masters of Social Work from Western Carolina University, during which her education and internships focused on child trauma, domestic violence, traumatic grief, and crisis counseling. Doreen enjoys being outdoors and tapping into her creative side, both in her free time and in therapeutic sessions.
