Dan was born and raised in Western North Carolina. In 2009, he earned his Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with University Honors and Departmental Distinction. As a licensed math instructor and a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, Dan has spent his career working with struggling adolescents in therapeutic education environments. In his free time, Dan loves to cook, listen to music, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy the great outdoors. Dan is passionate about emphasizing diversity in the mathematical community. He came to Asheville Academy with a goal to develop an environment in the classroom that motivates young women to become more engaged and interested in science and mathematics.
