Zachary moved to the Asheville, NC area in 2011 from the high deserts of Utah. He has been working with therapeutic programs since 2008. He started his experience working in wilderness therapy far out in the dry river basins of central Arizona, before moving to Utah working for an RTC for boys that helped its clients find self-worth through training them to complete and compete in triathlons. He also has experience working with adult men in a wilderness substance abuse rehab facility. Once Zachary moved to North Carolina he continued working in a wilderness based program for adolescence. He has since worked in intensive in-home care with individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Zachary found out about Solstice East from his roommate and decided to join the team. He started as a mentor in 2014, moved to a team lead, and then made the leap next door to Asheville Academy where he serves as a Team Manager. When not at work, Zachary enjoys spending time in his woodshop creating various projects as gifts for his friends and family. He also actively seeks out new trails and waterfalls to explore in the Western North Carolina mountains which are so different from the western deserts he is used to roaming.
